WHAT IS TRANSFĂGĂRĂȘAN CHALLENGE?
TRANSFĂGĂRĂȘAN CHALLENGE is a new event for amateur cyclists, which will be a part of the Sibiu Cycling Tour, on the 5th of July 2021, as a pre-race event the pros stage. The competition is open to all local, national, and international amateur riders, both men and women, of at least 18 year of age.
HOW CAN I REGISTER?
The registration is ONLINE only, just click on the Registration button and fill in the form. Registration will on the 1st of March 2021 and will close on the 1st of June 2021.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE PARTICIPATION FEE?
These are your benefits if you book your participation:
• FOR YOU: Transfăgărășan Challenge Kit including T-shirt, participation number, water bottle, energy bar
• ON THE ROAD: Roads closed to traffic, timekeeping service, competition escorts, emergency medical assistance, water station available on the way
• AFTER THE EVENT: Awards, diploma, official race jersey for winners, pasta party after the awards ceremony
CAN I ALSO BOOK MY ACCOMMODATION FACILITIES?

I AM A BEGINNER, CAN I STILL BE PART OF THIS?
Yes, but we strongly recommend training before the race as this is one of the toughest climbs of the Sibiu Cycling Tour. The competition is open to all those who want to test their limits but also to those who just want to feel the adrenaline of a real contest.
HOW LONG IS THE RIDE? IS THERE A MAXIMUM TIME LIMIT TO COMPLETE THE RACE?
The TRANSFĂGĂRĂȘAN CHALLENGE is 30 kilometers long and there’s a 1487 meters altitude difference between Albota and Bâlea Lac. The pace is up to you, but the race has a maximum of 3 hours allowance as the pro teams of Sibiu Cycling Tour will arrive right after the end of our challenge.
WHAT KIND OF BIKE CAN I RIDE?
This is specifically a road bike event, so we strongly recommend using a road or a cyclocross bicycle. Mountain or trekking bikes are also accepted. Electric, hybrid or any other bikes are not allowed in the race.
